Please note: you are now inside the purity web, an interactive web artwork by South African media artist Kai Lossgott documenting and exploring concepts around the "secure" project begun in 2003. This is a personal exploration of the Victorian ethnicity of the white South African suburb and its culture of security stretching back to colonial times. The artist draws on cultural myths and memories of growing up as a white male in postapartheid South Africa, as well as modern anxieties of middle class life.
